mjlaverty54 Holy smokes, how have I not heard this Band. I live in Richmond for gods sake. I know Danny from the Mummies. Eileen for her solo work. I’ve been wearing this album out the pass few days. Outside working in the yard and dancing. Neighbors think I’ve gone nuts. I love this musicianship of this Band. The harmonies are spot on. I like every note of this album. If forced to name my favorite track I would have to pick “Romance”. Danny’s and Eileen voice together is great. Precious Standing

mretwh I have been listening and dancing to Rattlemouth for 30 years. They are always developing new music every few months. This is their stellar latest edition. All original music, sometimes breathtaking, oft times heartbreaking every track is completely danceable as well. I suggest anyone buy this disc. This band has written a large part of the soundtrack of my 65 years. Never do they disappoint. All of their music is compelling, sweaty, tender and amazing. See you all on the dance floor. Favorite track: To The Open.

To The Open 07:35
It is a beautiful crystalline star filled full moon night There is us It is we Ever changing companions Making our way thru a service door into a Spacious aroma rich kitchen A welcoming man with a quiet smile is chopping vegetables for a stew He is a holy man, unassuming, true In an instant we find ourselves on a winding staircase Leading us to a room on the top floor Others already arrived receive us with a warm and forgone acceptance Humility prevails amid happy commotion Conviviality and communion transpire Before we are gently adjourned Then four of us carry an elder in a wheelchair back down the stairs into the outside It’s a beautiful crystalline star filled full moon night Everyone is tenderness and elation A person of love laughingly lifts her skirt Dancing playfully the stars and the moon so bright Jade green beams flecked with gold Pour down from the full moon light

What you are wanting it is not so much A bit of affection and a decent lunch Just what is the bother? Something impending Peculiar old worry of life’s pleasures ending Nothing is the matter The morning breeze is nice This moment is enough Dappled sunlight will suffice What once you were drawn to eventually annoyed Too much of a good thing was simply not enjoyed
3.
Romance 08:40
Not so free of the story “should be and supposed to” I get the wrong idea frequently Thanks for your every effort dismantling Heavy uneasy longings I hold for you I sleep, dream and wake and fall asleep again Escape proves elusive consistently Merely a murmur at first, an inspiration Clarity dawning an opening door Non hatred informing my occupations Saying yes to more than I’ve ever said yes to before “Nostalgia for samsara” Chögyam said “is full of shit” The outhouse, the place for rumination May I desire what is finally required A deeper involvement, an engaged affair Discerning with skill pleasant, unpleasant or neutral under any condition anywhere Saying yes to more than I’ve ever said yes to before

Let inclinations go astray drop disappear fall away Remind remember notice refrain Return to a practice of investigating Starting anew is what you do Until you no longer have to Immersed in webs fields fibers waves Currents filaments vibrations roots Networks channels avenues and streams of mending tending nourishing unending Journeys forever and never not never not never not never not So you try and make the effort Show up daily as you are Allow the time allow the mind Allow friendliness and be kind Starting anew is what you do Until you no longer have to
5.
Vagabond bag o’ bones resting sleeplessly in deserts and mountains on floors of the seas In time purified altered and absorbed In countless incarnations of energetic forms Endo and exo skeletal structures For swimmers and crawlers flyers and walkers Propelled into endless wondrous perils Best practices encoded on cellular levels Vagabond bag o’ bones shell, tooth, tusk, and stone Obdurate long lasting hard to wear down Slow decay feeds the roots of great leafy trees Cool vibrating sunlit intricacies Luminous myriad song filled home From where we come From where we roam We are changed you and me In ways we just don’t figure out to be
6.
Playwright 05:16
Appearances influence thoughts I’m given to say Reticence informs my take on the ways of your play You say as you rearrange the stage “It’s ineffable, this show” Attentive tones prompt time to slow The air grows cool, the lights fall low No moves are made So much occurs Breathing is heard One’s heart is stirred Drawn to dreams where I get caught Ensnared by deeds I don’t start or stop You wait it out this dumb turmoil Noting what is and what is not When menacing tales issue forth aggressive, mean and unbenign Your steadfast gaze continues sending understated assuring signs Oceans of air Swirled with waves Lightly struck bell Sustained decay
7.
Tenuous 06:04
Tenuous arrangements discarded master plans Salvaging commences in an improvising land Systems we rely on human made and otherwise Harmed and disrespected by hubris, greed and lies So it’s humble patchwork mending for a long time now to come A world of shiny futures falls asunder and undone Would be gods hide in their enclaves from the riff raff that are us They praise their death militias well armed and murderous
8.
Remedies 07:43
Pervasive notions that trouble awaits us So many already deep in the muck of it Misgivings abound in a world of wrong actions Long and hard held views prove difficult to quit There’s no escaping humbling remedies Unreliable fixes are coming unglued Toxic I me and mine oh oh I me and mine The planet’s magic has a great deal to undo May we engage in wholesome endeavors Engendering patience from the start A purposeful dance of spiraling cycles Slowly unwrapping hidden healing arts It’s time to compost the punitive empire And cause to rot its nasty strategies Increase by orders of magnitude, conditions That encourage and grow equanimity Atop ancient mounds of festering retribution Fork on layers of music from our wounded hearts Soak with compassion all terrified mind states Provide shade in the glare offer light in the dark Upon cruel and killing competitions cast seed bombs, water, manure and clay Drench thoroughly the heaps of wasted potential With diverse concoctions mixing labor and play
9.
Tides of varied existence rise and fall Hydrogen bonding floating it all Dripping flowing vaporizing Accompanied often with thunder and lightning A scent of moisture faint in the air On an edge of an oasis somewhere A spring fed pool or a shallow stream Sustaining phenomenal lives hidden and seen Scanning a grey and muted sky Precious standing before you fly From grounded to groundless in the blink of an eye Precious standing before you fly Upright then upended shocked surprise Precious standing before you fly Springtime emergence thru winter demise Precious standing before you fly Beauty behind, beside and beyond you An array of destinations maybe you get to canyons and arroyos, mesas and plains When storm clouds gather, voices welcome the rain Migrating species have assembled and flown You too set about leaving not quite alone Abiding a path of harmless ways Discarding enchantments, blame and praise
