Wild Sisters
05:16
|

When our sisters first mention their dissatisfaction
We sort of forget just who we are
We stare off into the distance Unawareness throws us down
Into a thicket of thought where we carelessly thrash around
Their fierce ministrations soften us for certain calamities
Though we hardly seem to welcome that truth
Balance is rarely known in states of rigidity
Our dear wild sisters shake shake shake us free
Go to them dance with them
Dance dance fast and slow
Take their potions sip their teas
Imbibe their crazy brews
Bathe in the glow of the full moon light
Glow in the bath of the moon
Sing along with the songs they sing
The songs they sing to you
They cause us to abandon strategies for control
And outcomes desired that stick to us like glue
When we define our lives as pain filled knots
They unravel our stories while bestowing far juicier plots

We Sleep Outside
05:11
|
|||
I live outside in a cardboard box
underneath in the shade of a rickety worm farm
Put there by the big one I run away from
but usually not so far
Food can be found close by to the place where
the big one comes in and out of
and clean water to is sometimes there though
the opossum often makes it dirty
I must share with friend and stranger
and sometimes I am chased away
I do get cold I do get hot
I do get eaten by flea and mosquito
Mostly a safe place is what I want
A safe place is mostly what I want

As I Breathe
04:36

Outside the winter wind is blowing
Cold pervades the darkened room
Your state of mind tends to slump
into a mess of hope and gloom
As you breathe your heart is beating
Fierce regrets cling and stay
You call out to mere perfect strangers
to take away your sad malaise
Random moments of familiar scenes
aromas textures sounds
Such kind lips brush your ear
Lust and longing spin around
Yet you sense an undermining
A distant haunting thrum of dread
Courage flows thru out you Darling
Wise and tender tears you shed
You just don’t recall what you wanted
many times along this path
Swept up in harsh confusion
Banged about by sudden wrath
And frequently you do wonder
Wonder just what have you done ?
With this singular rarity…
Is it finished ? Was it begun ?
Doubtless you have known sweet beauty
Savoring all that you could
Springtime evenings in a garden
Autumn walks in brilliant woods
Random moments of familiar scenes
aromas textures sounds
Such kind lips brush your ear
Desire and longing mix around
Outside the winter wind is blowing
Cold pervades the darkened room
Your state of mind tends to slump
into a mess of hope and gloom
As you breathe your fear starts fading
Certainties corrode to gone
With you now the dearest strangers
Who’ve been with you all along

A Proper Goodbye
05:42
|
|||
In as many ways a fettered mind can fashion gone on
so long all wrong…yet somehow still, this life, tho
rarely a still life, stills, quiets, calms, comes apart,
disassembles, flows in shambles, in tears, streams, rivers
oceans…revealing a vast expansive inexhaustible
devotion to the most minute and tender motions
not hurled, rushed, thrust or thrown
aggression ceasing to be
all is welcoming not forbidding
and as such, the mind is steadied, one is readied
to enter raging storms of wild hellos
and say heart open wide a proper goodbye
relinquish, take one’s leave
relinquish, leave one’s take
say goodbye, say goodbye and go
